Gary Snider, 74 of Plattsburgh, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024 at his residence on Carbide Rd, surrounded by his family. He was born Wednesday, November 23, 1949 in Plattsburgh NY. He was the son of Oswald (Sonny) Snider and Marion (Collins) Snider. He married the love of his life, Donna (Bruce) Snider on May 16, 1970. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Donna Snider; his children Jean (Snider) Bouvia and her husband Brad Bouvia, Brian Snider and his companion Jackie Bouyea, Angela (Snider) Carte and her husband Nick Carte, and his honorary daughter Heidi (Chamberlain) Breyette and her husband John Breyette; grandchildren Mathew Parker, Tyler Snider and his companion Tabitha Jiguere, Samantha Snider and her companion Richard Armstrong, Hannah (Bouvia) Dumas and her husband Alex Dumas, Elijah Long, Lily Carte, Adriane Breyette and Kolten Breyette; many great grandchildren; siblings Linda Bruno, Bonnie (Dubrey) Snider, Carol (Snider) Kedmenec and her husband Mike Kedmenec, Sharron (Snider) Daniels and her husband Roy Daniels, Mike Snider and his wife Sandra Ebersole, David Snider, Debbie (Snider) Howells and her husband Phil Howells, Melody (Snider) Duell and her husband David Duell, and Kim (Snider) Banks and her husband Tom Banks; as well as many nieces, nephews, inlaws, cousins and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, and his brother Dale Snider. He served in the United State Army and was honorably discharged in 1976. Then upon leaving the military he worked as an HVAC Service technician for the first half of his career. He went on to a second career as a Tractor Trailer Driver. He worked for several local heating companies and trucking companies including; Kenny Kipp Heating and Plumbing, Agway, Esposito and Sons Freightlines, Inc, and Clinton County Public Transit (CART). Upon retiring, he became a volunteer driver for JCEO. Gary enjoyed working on cars, going to NASCAR races, working around his garage and spending time with his grandchildren. He was known for his sense of humor and stubbornness, and for his love of teasing people. A celebration of his life will be held at his home on Sunday May 12 at 1:00.
