Genevieve E Wood

Riverview Mrs. Genevieve E. Wood, 80 of Route 3 in Riverview, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 1, 1930 in Dannemora, the daughter of the late Henry and Lena (Soucy) Farrell. Genevieve was a nurturing and loving stay at home mother. Her love of children was indescribable. Every child born in the family was a blessing to her. She was best known for her worn Bible as she would pray and say novenas for family members in need. There are no words to describe how she will be missed as she is irreplaceable. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Warren J. Wood, four daughters; Sharon and Clifford Longtemps of Riverview, Bonnie Maggy and companion Jerzy Pawlowski of Altona, June Smith of Silver Lake, Shelly and Jamie Luczak of Redford, three sisters; Betty and Edward Daugherty of Plattsburgh, Joyce and John Swinyer of Vermontville, Jean Sullivan of Cadyville, a daughter in law; Linda Wood of Morrisonville, her grandchildren and great grandchildren; Collette and Pat Taylor and their son Cole, Carmen and Eldon Ives and their daughters Chantell and Madison and son Kyle, Clifford Longtemps, Jr., Jody Maggy and his son Jason and daughter Cali, Buffy Guest and son Bobby, Joel and Shannon Maggy and their son Ryan and daughter Rowan, Courtney Smith and companion Rodney Lavarnway and daughter Leah, Tyler and Jenna Luczak, Timothy Wood, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter Deborah and a son Gailand, a sister Joan Provost, and a brother in law, Edward H. Sullivan Sr. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 22, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 3 Park Row in Cadyville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Church of the Assumption in Redford. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be offered to the Redford Fire House or Church of the Assumption. A gathering of family and friends will follow at American Legion Post 1618 in Redford.
