George L. LaTulippe, 91, of Monty Street, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Sunday February 23, 2014 at his home with his family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Bolton, VT on March 23, 1922 the son of Lewis and Sadie (Rochelle) LaTulippe. George graduated from Berlin High School in Berlin, NY in 1939. He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp. serving his country during World War II in the 352 Fighter Squadron, based in England. George married Olive Jackson in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England on December 22, 1943. There he served as Message Center Chief and in conjunction with the D-Day Invasion he deployed to Belgium. He was honorably discharged in November of 1945 and returned to Salem, NY with Olive. George worked for several paper mill companies in the Salem area, before moving to Plattsburgh in 1957 to take a job as Plant Engineer at Imperial Wall Covering, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 20, Knights of Columbus Council 255, Elks Lodge 621 and parishioner at Our Lady of Victory Church. George enjoyed golfing, bowling and enjoyed watching Syracuse Basketball and Yankee Baseball. George was predeceased by his parents, his wife Olive, a son Charles LaTulippe, five brothers; Donald, Edward, Lewis, Robert and Raymond LaTulippe and two sisters Doris Carey and Beatrice LaTulippe. He is survived by two children; Marie Jolicoeur and her husband Francis of Beekmantown and Philip LaTulippe and wife Teri of Colorado Spring, CO, five grandchildren; John (Lynette) Jolicoeur, James (Melanie) Jolicoeur and Jeffery (Jennifer) Jolicoeur, Danielle (Rob) Coleman and Jennifer (Eddie) Maise, a step grandson, Timothy Raftice, eleven great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, a great great grandson, four sisters; Anna Campbell of Salem, NY, Mary Logan of Stamford, CT, Sr. Christine LaTulippe of Maryknoll, NY, Nancy Lemery of Micro, NC, three sisters-in-law Joanne LaTulippe of Westminster, MD, Betty LaTulippe of Henderson, NV and Betty Jackson of East Winch, England, several nieces and nephews also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Friday February 28, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday March 1, 2014 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh; burial will be later in the year in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh. Donations in George's memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country or North Country Honor Flight. George and his family are eternally grateful for the support and dedication of the Honor Flight Group, who made his wish come true to visit the World War II Memorial in Washington D.C. in October of 2013.
