George D. Roberts, 74, of Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday October 27th, 2023, listening to his beloved wife, Jeanie, telling his nurse how they met so many moons ago in January 1969. They met at Brody’s Bar and Grill and danced the night away to Creedance Clear Water Revival's rendition of Proud Mary. He walked her home that night, smitten, and they set about making a life together. 55 years later, and 52 years of marriage, Geroge lived a life that he was proud of and amazed by. He passed away just shy of one of the three anniversaries that they celebrated every year, Halloween, the day he asked Jeanie to marry him. Born on Saturday, June 4th, 1949, to Della and Richard Roberts, George was known for his kindness and dedication to family, friends, and neighbors. Often cleaning the snow off of a neighbor’s front steps, delivering a homemade meal or a dish of Jeanie’s freshly baked goodies, cutting a lawn, helping to fix a car, or driving an elderly friend to their doctor’s appointments, George prided himself on being a helper. To those who knew him, he probably loved you, helped you, cared for you, or he had that tool or gadget that you needed, and he was happy to do it. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jeanie, and his two children, Sarah and Christopher, along with his grandson Callen, and his children’s spouses Jon and Lindsay. He is predeceased by his parents Della and Richard Roberts, and his three brothers, Leo ‘Richard’, Roy, and William ‘Billy’. As per his wishes, there will be no calling hours or formal services. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home. Online condolences may be offered at www.brownfuneralhomeinc.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the Senior Citizen’s Council of Clinton County: 518-563-6180, 5139 North Catherine St, Plattsburgh, NY 12901 https://www.seniorsinclintoncounty.com; or the Clinton County Christmas Bureau, P.O.
