Gerald J King

Gerald (Jerry) King, 86, of Cadyville died on Friday, April 10, at CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born on June 1, 1933, in Chazy Lake, the son of Ernest and Anna (Peryea) King. He was a graduate of Dannemora High School, served two years in the Army, then was employed by the Department of Corrections, retiring from Altona Correctional Facility in 1995. He enjoyed travel, golf, making maple syrup, and a casino day.
He married Elizabeth (Betty) Wrisley on June 6, 1959, at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Clintonville. He is survived by his wife, sons Michael and Steven, his daughter Susan of Texas, granddaughters Jessica, Lauren and Leah Householder, and great-granddaughter Daphne Grantham, brothers and sister-in-laws Lincoln (Elaine) King of Chazy Lake, Bernard (Janette) King of Las Vegas, sisters-in-law Lorraine (Martin) Heywood of Chazy Lake and Joyce King of Florida, brother-in-law Peter Keenan of Peru, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Ernest, Russell and Richard King, sisters Mary Ann Keenan and Aurelia McCusker, sisters-in-law Joan King, Ruth (John) Lowry, and Marion (Charles) Arthur.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date at Joseph's Church in Dannemora.
