Morrisonville Mr. Gerald (Jerry) E. Pellerin, 82, formerly of Route 22, Morrisonville and presently residing at Pine Harbour in Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with family members by his side. He was born February 7, 1929, the first born of nine children to Henry and Lea (Hebert) Pellerin of Plattsburgh, New York. He attended school in the Beekmantown School District and served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952 during the Korean War and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, also served in the United States Army Reserves until 1956. Upon discharge, he returned to the area and spent the next 58 years in the carpentry/construction business building and renovating homes. Jerry and his brother Leonard and their construction crew also built the original Orange Julep and Gus's Red Hots. In addition to his carpenter business, Jerry operated a pre-cast concrete step business as well as having many rentals in the area. His favorite pastime was shooting pool and his pool table has been donated to Pine Harbour for the residents, he was also a fan of the New York Yankees Baseball games. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge # 621 and the Peru Lions Club. He was a former member of St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville and attended St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. He is survived by his three sons; Jay of Plattsburgh, Jeffrey of Pensacola, Fla., Joseph of Orlando, Fla., one daughter; Melissa (Pellerin) Schaaf and her husband Robert of Virginia, five grandchildren; Brad Pellerin of Plattsburgh, Margaret and Alex Schaaf of Virginia, Jessica and Rebecca Pellerin of Peru, New York. He is also survived by three sisters; Margaret (Jerry) Garrand, Jeannette (James) Franck of Land O Lake, Fla., Therese Dudyak, all of Plattsburgh, three brothers; Paul (Rita) Pellerin, Edmund (Cathy) Pellerin and Marcel Pellerin, all of Plattsburgh, and several nieces and nephews and a special friend Jeanne Collings of Plattsburgh. He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Lea Pellerin, his brother Leonard in 1988, his sister Mary Wilson in 1999, brother in law Stephen Dudyak in 2008 and his daughter in law Gayann Pellerin in 2010. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 18, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad Street in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from St. Peter's Church. Interment will be in St. Alexander's cemetery in Morrisonville on Thursday, May 12, 2011 following a 10:00 am memorial Mass at St. Alexander's Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity or the American Heart Association.
