Gertrude E "Gert" Germaine

Mrs. Gertrude E. "Gert" Germaine, 94 formerly of Cornelia St., Plattsburgh, NY passed peacefully away in her sleep on Friday September, 25, 2015 at the Clinton County Nursing Home. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on June 29, 1921 the daughter of Charles Henry and Julia Aurelia (Chamberlain) Provost. Gert had been employed at McGaulley's Bakery and M. H. Fishman's Department Store. She was an active member of St. Peter's Church where she was a member of and Past President of the Rosary and Altar Society, she did fund raising, worked the bazaars, bingo, harvest dinners, serving at funeral masses or wherever she was needed. Gert was predeceased by her parents, her husband Wilfred "Babe" Germaine, four brothers and two sisters-in-law Lawrence Provost and his wife Geraldine, Herbert Provost and his wife Rita, Robert R. Provost, Carl Provost; three sisters and brother-in-law Irene Malinski and her husband John, Rita Caoutte and her husband Arthur, Clair Walker and her husband Robert. She is survived by a sister Barbara Caouette and her husband Raymond of Plattsburgh and Ocala, FL, two sisters-in-law Mary R. Provost of Peru, Joan Provost of Brewster, MA, many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 30, 2015 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery.
