Gilbert H Lavalley

Gilbert Herbert LaValley passed on November 24, 2023 at CVPH Medical Center after a short illness. Gil was born on July 10, 1950, the son of Herbert Alexander LaValley and Ruth Yvonne Lareau. He graduated from Keeseville Central High School and lived most of his life in Keeseville and Plattsburgh, NY. Gil began working at the age of 10 at the truck-vegetable farm next door to his grandparents. Over the years he worked at several jobs, even doing a 6-year stint in the offshore oilfields in the Gulf of Mexico off the Louisiana coast. He retired from the Plattsburgh City School District. Gil is survived by three sisters: Karen Reines of Keeseville, and Julie LaValley and Marie (Jeff) Webster, both of Port Charlotte, Florida; a niece and her husband, Aubrey and James Douglas; a nephew, Sean Reines; three grand nephews: Aiden James, Elijah Finn, and Jaxon Rhys Douglas; several cousins and many cherished friends. He was predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law, Phil Reines. Arrangements are through Brown Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours. Services are private and at the discretion of his family.
