Gladys M. Collins, 78, of Cadyville, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at the UVM-CVPH Medical Center with family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, on January 23, 1940, the daughter of Ernest and Anna (Ayotte) Miner. She attended Malone School of Practical Nursing in 1964 and continued her nursing education at Clinton Community College and Plattsburgh State. She worked at Saranac Lake General Hospital from 1957-1969, CVPH from 1969-1998, and Dr. Sarnow's Podiatry from 1998-2001. Following her retirement, she continued to work and drove school bus from 2001-2007 for Saranac Central School. She was a faithful catholic, acting as a Eucharistic Minister, and worked in the parish office of St. James Church. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and the colors of the autumn season. She is predeceased by her parents, a daughter Tina Young Berg (1995), a sister Madeline Pellerin, her brothers, Henry, Clarence, Bernard, James, and Elrick Miner. She is survived by her husband, Roland Collins whom she married in 1988, her children, Debra Brinnon and her husband David, Elric Young and his wife Tina, and James Young, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, her siblings; Winnifred Carron and her husband Robert, John Miner and his wife Gloria, and Clement Miner, her step-children; Jarrod Collins, and Heath Collins and his wife Julie, and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 11:00 am at St. James Minor in Cadyville.
