Plattsburgh Mr. Glenn E. Bond, Sr., 76, of the Durand Road in Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014 at his home with family by his side and under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Ellenburg Depot, NY on April 3, 1937, the son of the late Clarence and Laura (Monette) Bond. Glenn served in the U.S. Air force for 20 years, where he worked as a fireman. Glenn was a member of St. Alexander's Church where he and his wife worked many harvest dinners where he showed his cooking skills. Woodworking was a great passion of his, building furniture and remodeling homes. Glenn had a love for sports, as an avid New York Giants fan and New York Yankee fan, but his greatest love was for his family. He is survived by a son Glenn E. Bond, Jr. and his wife Nicole of Beekmantown and their children; Robert and his wife Thuy, Kala, Cameron, Randi, Bailee and Cole, two daughters Donna Durocher and her husband Nelson of Plattsburgh and their children, Kasey LaMountain and her husband Matt, and Samantha Durocher, Karen Montbriand and her husband Charles of Beekmantown and their children Nicole Reil and her companion James Snide, Amanda Reil and Taylor Reil, his brothers; R. Gary Bond and his wife Lynda, and Donald Bond, his sisters; Dolly Poupore, and Irlene Manor and her husband Roger, a sister in law; Patricia Seaton and her husband David of Watford Herts, England, six great grandchildren; Xavier, Ethan, Olivia, Grace, Talon and Dominic, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Annette Bond, his sisters; Millie, Ethel, Alma, Evelyn, his brother, Kermit who died in WWII, and several other siblings who died at a young age. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 11:00 at St. Alexander's Church. Entombment will be on Wednesday February 12, 2014 at 2:30 at Whispering Maples Mausoleum on the Tom Miller Road, in Plattsburgh where military honors will be presented. Friends wishing may make donations in his memory to St. Alexander's Church.
