Gloria A Mcclary

Gloria A. McClary, 91, of Waterhouse Street, passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Meadowbrook Healthcare with family by her side.
She was born in Lyon Mountain on October 18, 1929, the daughter of the late Herbert and Lillian (St. John) Abare.
Gloria was known in the neighborhood as “Mrs. M” from her years at McClary’s Grocery.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Lynn (son in law Art Covert) of Plattsburgh; and two sons, Stephen (wife Debb) of Great Falls, Montana, and Michael (wife Suzanne) of Strawberry, Arizona, her sisters and brothers in law Barbara and Gary Bouchard of Morrisonville, Patricia and Richard Barrow of Oswego, sisters-in-law Joanne Abare of Oswego, NY and Irene McClary DeCirce of Syracuse , five grandchildren (Ashley, Brittney, DyLon, Kinsey and Zachary) and four beloved great grandchildren ,and several nieces and nephews, and lifelong friend Philomena “Dolly” Farrell of Amsterdam, NY..
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Charles “Mac” McClary in 2015, a grandson Ian Michael Leslie, a brother; Francis Abare, and a sister Bernice Hauser.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. Funeral services will follow at 6:30 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will be at the Plattsburgh Community Mausoleum.
