Gwen Reyell

Plattsburgh Gwendolyn "Gwen" S. (Tranthem) Reyell, 61, of Pellerin Road, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Thursday November 3, 2011 at CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born in Meriden, Connecticut on June 19, 1950 the daughter of Wallace and Natalie (Cook) Rich, Sr. Gwen work as a C.N.A. at Connecticut State Hospital in Middletown, CT. She moved to Plattsburgh in 2001 to be closer to family. Gwen was an avid fan of NASCAR and enjoyed going to Airborne Speedway on Saturdays to watch her brother-in-law and nephew race and support Reyell Racing. She was also a huge New York Yankees and New England Patriot Fan. Gwen was active with the local Narcotics Anonymous 12 Step Program and mentored many women in recovery through the years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and spoiling her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister Peterann Gilbert and a brother Wallace "Butch" Rich, Jr. Gwen is survived by her husband Jerry Reyell of Plattsburgh, a sister Laurie Barnett her husband Noel of Oswego, a sister in law Jackie Rich of GA, her in laws Richard "Dick" and Janice Reyell of Plattsburgh, three brothers in law; Michael Reyell and his wife Dawn of Plattsburgh, Darrell Reyell and his wife Sarah of Sciota, two sisters in law; Pat McMannis and her husband Steven of Chazy and Arleen Reyell and her husband David Unverhau of Schenectady, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her. Calling hours will be held on Sunday November 6, 2011 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Funeral Service will follow at 5:00 p.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
