Harold G Alford

Plattsburgh Harold G. Alford, 83, of Crestview Dr., Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at CVPH Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born in Mooers Forks on December 6, 1930 the son of the late Lynn and Gertrude (Elvidge) Alford. Harold was a real-estate developer, developing Thunderbird Heights and Plattsburgh RV Park. Harold greatly enjoyed his work, but his greatest love was for his family. He was predeceased by his sisters, Ruth Mickelson and Betty Morrison. Harold is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley, his children, Dennis Alford and his wife Rita of Plattsburgh, Dean Alford, of Plattsburgh, his daughter Jackie Tetreault and her husband Kevin, of Plattsburgh; two sisters, Eunice Babbie and husband Leeward of Peru, NY, Shirley Walker and her companion Steve Ashline of Champlain, NY; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 11:00 on at the First Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Mooers Forks. In lieu of flowers, donations in Harold's memory can be made to Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child in care of The First Assembly God's Church.
