Harold P Labarge

Mooers Mr. Harold P. LaBarge, 84, of Route 11, Mooers, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at his home with family by his side and under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Winooski, Vermont on January 20, 1929, the son of the late Leo and Lyonette (Hebert) LaBarge. Harold served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army, Tank Co., 8th Infantry Regiment. He married Rellia S. Corron on June 12, 1954 at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. Harold was predeceased by his wife and his parents. He worked for Sheraton Iron Works-Harris Bindery Systems and later for the General Services Administration at the Port of Champlain Customs, retiring in the mid 1990's. Harold was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Mooers, a founding member of the Mooers Fire Dept., a Boy Scout Leader, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War. Harold enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending quality time with his family. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Laura LaBarge of Lisbon, Steven and Loanne LaBarge of Mooers, and Spencer and Lisa LaBarge of Swanton, Vt.; his sisters Rita Cody of Mooers Forks and Connie Schnob of Plattsburgh; four grandchildren, Michael, Heather, Owen and Kayla; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday January 9, 2014 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Altona. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday January 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church in Mooers. Burial will be in the parish cemetery later in the year. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country, the Mooers Fire Dept. or Boy Scouts of American.
