Heather Leigh Ann Calkins

Heather Leigh Ann Calkins, 34, of Plattsburgh, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022. She was born in Plattsburgh on August 20, 1987, the daughter of Wayne and Lee(Rushford) Calkins.

Heather earned a Regents High School Diploma on June 24, 2006. Later in life, she attended Clinton Community College, where she majored in Human Resources and had completed some college. Heather had other jobs in her life, but her last job as a Home Health Aide was something she had found a passion for.

Although Heather has always said her greatest love and accomplishment was her daughter, Haley Calkins-Raynor. She loved art, (drawing, coloring, sketching, making art), writing poetry, shopping (especially at thrift stores), and playing the keyboard from time to time. Heather also had a love for music, whether it was to create it, to sing, or just to listen to it.

Heather was a mother, a daughter, a sister, a niece, and a friend to many and will forever be loved, missed and never forgotten.

She is survived by her daughter, Haley Calkins-Raynor; her mother Lee Calkins and her sisters Althe Mace and Nichole Calkins. She also leaves behind her nieces, Kaylee, Mikayla and Alora, as well as a nephew, Hayden and her brother-in-law, Charlie Mace.

She was predeceased by her father Wayne Calkins and her fur-baby, Tiny (her dog).

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 from 3:00pm-4:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. in Plattsburgh. A memorial service will follow at 4:00pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
