Helen L "Rusty" Lapham

Plattsburgh Helen L. "Rusty" (Russell) Lapham Beloved wife, mother and grandmother Mrs. Helen L. "Rusty" Lapham, 84, of Park Ave., Plattsburgh, New York passed away Monday December 1, 2014 at the UVM/CVPH Medical Center. She was born in Crown Point on March 25, 1930 the daughter of Frank C. Russell and Gertrude (Breed) Russell. She graduated from Crown Point Central School in 1948 and then graduated from Champlain Valley School of Nursing in 1950. She was employed as a nurse at CV Hospital and later CVPH Hospital. She married the late Francis "Gus" Lapham on June 3, 1952. Helen was known for her enormous generosity, kindness and compassion. She was beloved by all. She was avid member of St. John's Church in Plattsburgh, NY. Helen was predeceased by her husband Francis (Gus) Lapham, her parents Frank and Gertrude Russell, her sister Jean Russell and son-in-law Max Maksimow. She is survived by sister, Aileen Russell of Balston Spa, NY, brothers, James and Bruce Russell, of Crown Point, NY. Her son Michael Lapham and his wife Kissy Lapham, her son Stephen Lapham and his wife Estelle Lapham, her daughter Paula Lapham and her partner Stephen Martin, her daughter Kathleen Maksimow and her partner Marc Papa, her daughter Ann Barnes and her husband Dr. David Barnes and ten grandchildren, Brendan and Micheal B. Lapham, Tasia and Noelle Tedford, Connor and Ashley Barnes, Shannon, Jason, Kayla and Brittany Lapham. Calling hours and funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital or the Parkinson's Association.
