Helen T Sears

Morrisonville Mrs. Helen T. Sears, 81, formerly of Rand Hill Road in Morrisonville, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the Evergreen Valley Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. She was born in Keeseville on May 27, 1928, the daughter of Charles H. and Ida (Young) Twa. Helen graduated from Keeseville Central School in 1945 and was later employed at Brown Thompson Department Store in Hartford, Connecticut, Betty's Cleaners in Keeseville, Beekmantown Central School, Morrisonville Construction Company, and retired from Clinton Community College in 1983. She enjoyed flower gardening, bowling, camping and crocheting. Helen was a member of St. Alexander's Church and the Ladies Club of the Catholic Community of St. Alexander's and St. Joseph's. She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Dale and Tammy Sears of Morrisonville, Terry and Deborah Sears of Morrisonville, 5 granddaughters, Kathleen Carlton and her husband Chris, Nichole Sears Ross, Melissa Greule and her husband James, Stacey Giddings and her husband Al, Jamie Sears and her companion Jeff Corp, 4 great grandchildren; Cael Ross, Ada Carlton, Jesse and Gracey Giddings, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in 1985 by her husband, Frederick L. Sears, whom she married November 30, 1946, a son David Sears, her parents Charles and Ida Young, a sister, Rose (Twa) Taquino, a niece Charlene Bressette and a nephew Richard Halen. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Alexander's Church, Morrisonville. Interment will be in St. Alexander's Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be offered to Alzheimer's Research.
