Hillard E Blow

Mr. Hillard E. Blow, 87, of Dale Avenue, Plattsburgh, New York passed away, Friday, March 7, 2014 at home with his family by his side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born in Altona, New York on July 13, 1926 the son Edward and Lena (Olena) Blow. Hillard married Doris Brunelle, December 30, 1950 at Sacred Heart Church. He worked at Imperial Papermill for many years, but also operated his own burner service business until his retirement providing for his family. Hillard was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #7273. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, and his sisters, Corrine Blow and Rhea Gnass, his brother Lloyd Blow. Hillard is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris (Brunelle) Blow of Plattsburgh, his sons, Steven and his wife Mary of Lowville, Gregory and his companion Betty Burl of Plattsburgh, his daughters, Susan Larche and her husband John of Beekmantown, and Marsha Messier and her husband Thomas of Colchester, VT, a sister Joanne Green and her husband Henry of Plattsburgh, a brother; Oswald and his wife Dolores of Balston Spa, his grandchildren; Heather, Greg Jr., Travis, Andrew, Edward, Kristi, Tonya, Gabrielle, his great-grandchildren; Gavin, Hailey, Emily, Austin, Jayden, Hailey, Isabella, and Benjamin, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Monday, March 10, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, New York. A service will be celebrated Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at a later date in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
