Hubert W "Hugh" Wood

Hubert W. “Hugh” Wood, 86, formerly of Saranac passed away Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Essex Center. He was born in Lake Clear, NY on April 3, 1933 the son of Clifford and Dorothy (Donaldson) Wood. Hugh was employed by Trudeau Institute in Saranac Lake. He enjoyed farming, gardening, canning, playing piano, teaching religious education and spending time with family and friends.
Hugh was predeceased by his parents, his siblings; Warren Wood, Dorothy “Dolly” Wood, Irene McKay, Allen Wood, Mary Bainbridge and Linda Dashnaw.
He is survived by a brother Robert Wood and his wife Renalda of Saranac, Jean Smart and her husband Roger of Saranac and many nieces and nephews.
At Hugh’s request there will there be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Assumption in Redford.
Donations in his memory can be made to Fitzpatrick Cancer Center.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Brown Funeral Home, Park Row, Cadyville.
