Irene A. Brown, 86, of Pine Street in Plattsburgh, New York, passed away on Sunday January 5, 2014 at her home with her family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Schenectady, NY on May 28, 1927 the daughter of Loreto and Grace (Dicarlo) Giovannangelo. Irene graduated from high school in 1946, soon after she began working for General Electric in Schenectady. She meet her husband Roswell Brown in Schenectady in 1965, they were married in 1966 and began their life together in Plattsburgh. Irene began working for JECO in 1974, retiring in 1994 as an Out Reach Coordinator. She was past president of the RSVP Senior Counsel, past president of the Ladies of the Elks Lodge 2072 in Keeseville, past president of the Ladies of the Moose Lodge 2390 in Plattsburgh, Treasurer of the Christmas Bureau in Clinton County and a member of St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. She was predeceased by her husband Roswell "Bud" Brown in 2000 and a sister Lillian Giovannangelo. Irene is survived by two daughters; Grace Bechard and her husband Todd of Plattsburgh and Priscilla "Patty" Casab and her husband George of Rochester, three grandsons; Michael, Nicholas and Andrew Casab, two brothers; Eugene Angle and his wife Nancie of Alabama and Loreto Giovannangelo and his wife Georgean of Texas, a dear friend Shirley Guilbo of Plattsburgh, several nieces and nephews also survive her. Calling hours will be at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Peter's Church on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the spring at St. Peter's Cemetery.
