Plattsburgh Iris M. Webb, 85 of Prospect Avenue, Plattsburgh and formally of Monty Street, Plattsburgh passed away on Monday March 9, 2009 at Meadowbrook Health Care in Plattsburgh. Still an English Citizen, Iris was born in the thirteenth Century village of Bisley, England on April 20, 1923 to Percy and Sarah (Hook) Stevens. Iris came to the United States in 1946 after marrying her first husband Neil Carswell at All Saints Church in Bisley, England during World War II while Neil was serving in the United States Army. Neil passed away in 1956. Iris later married Frank W. Webb of Keeseville, NY in 1965. He passed away in 1986. Iris was also predeceased by her parents and two brothers; Jim and Jack Stevens. She loved reading, was an avid letter writer and enjoyed crafts. As a parishioner of Wesley Methodist Church on Elizabeth Street in Plattsburgh, Iris was renowned for her singing voice. Iris is survived by three daughters; Joanne Brighton and her husband William of Moreno Valley, CA, Marian McNamara and her husband Michael of Newburg, OR and Julie Hubbard and her husband Randy of West Palm Beach, FL. Four sisters; Celia Witts, Shirley Hemming and her husband Dennis, Marian Dutton and Jennifer Fletcher, three brothers; Peter Stevens, Tony Stevens and his wife Ann and Roger Stevens all of England, nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday March 11, 2009 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
