James R. “Benji” Benware, 64, of West Chazy, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at the UVM Health Network-CVPH with his family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh on January 4, 1956, the son of Richard and Marion (Rabideau) Benware. After many years of work James retired. He enjoyed time with his family and friends. He loved to fish, camp and enjoy the outdoors.
He is survived by his long-time partner Doreen Allen of Plattsburgh; his brother and best friend Ronald Benware of Morrisonville; his sister Deborah Benware of Morrisonville; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Lou Allen of Plattsburgh and brother and sister-in-law Donald and Christine Benware of Saratoga Springs and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Marion Benware.
There will be public calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on October 28, 2020 at 1:00 pm at St. Alexander’s Church. Burial will be held October 29, 2020 at 11:00 am at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh.
