James Galligan, 72, of Peru, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020 at his home, under the care of Hospice of the North Country. He was born near Queens, New York, on April 9, 1947, to Harold and Paula Galligan.
James was a man of no words, but he never missed an opportunity to “tell” you how he felt. Whether it was the pucker of his lips, the raise of his eyebrows, or a clenched fist shaking towards you, you knew how James felt about you. He was a fighter. He fought and survived more battles than anyone should have to, starting when he was just a few days old. James worked at Clinton County ARC’s Merritt Memorial Center starting in November of 1991 until he was no longer able to.
James is survived by 5 nieces and nephews, along with many friends he knew through Clinton County ARC. He will be greatly missed by all who adored him, though we know now, that he is pain-free and at peace.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Due to the current pandemic, services will be private. Burial will be in Flushing Cemetery, Flushing NY at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, N.Y. (518) 561- 3980. Online condolences may be at www.brownfuneralhomeinc.com.
