James J. Gerace

James J. Gerace, 88, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024. He was born on February 15, 1936, in Rochester, New York, to Philip and Mary (Richinoli) Gerace. James was a proud alumnus of St. John Fisher University in Rochester. For 30 years, he dedicated himself as an internal revenue officer for the U.S. government. James had a passion for history, enjoyed football, reading non-fiction novels, and cherished Sunday drives. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife of 53 years, Nancy Langlois Gerace. James is survived by his son James (Julia) Gerace, daughter Susan Gerace Mossey, her partner Chad Owen, and four grandchildren: Justine, Kyra, Cassandra, and Hunter. His memory will forever be cherished by all who knew him. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, May 15 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.
