James Wallace Page, age 80, of Plattsburgh, New York and Albany Ga. died on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. He was born in Doerun, Ga. on March 30, 1944, the son of William Page and Jimmie Yeardy Gill. Jim is survived by his beautiful wife Margaret (Maggie) LaValley Page, seven children, Theresa Page (Judy Bechard), Brenda Page (Michael Guerin), James (Jennifer) Page, Lorene (Ronald) Easter, Cathy (Steve) Steele, John Lavalley (Cindy Wood) and Tracey (Fred) Tuller. Thirteen grandchildren, Alex Page, Emily Page, Brittney Natale, CJ Natale, Amanda (Charlie) Coryea, Justin (Kirstie) Yelle, Jessica (Shane) Bigelow, Liz (Tom) Goslow, Tara (Josh) Slavin, Stacy (Sean) Bump, Nathan (Bailey) Tuller, Kaitlyn Tuller (Chris Mihal), Mathew Lavalley (Taylor Slagenweit), and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Brenda (Kirce) Lloyd, sister-in-law, Roslyn Page and brother-in-law, Jimmy (Linda) Bence. Five sister-in-laws, Beverly (Jim) Lamberton, Ruby (Leon) Garrand, Marilyn LaCount (David Gravelin), Norma (Larry) Begor, two brother-in-laws Paul (Nancy) LaValley and George (Tammy) Burleigh. He was predeceased by his parents, his siblings, Louise Hayes, Rayford Carroll Page, Thomas Page, Linda Eubanks and Patricia Bence, father-in-law, Wilfred LaValley, mother-in-law, Beatrice LaValley, sister-in-law, Joan LaCount, brother-in-law Russell LaCount and great granddaughter, Jaidyn Olivia Bigelow. Jim served in the United States Air Force from 1962-1964. Jim went on to drive heavy equipment and tractor trailer trucks for several different companies retiring with Church Oil. In Jim’s spare time, you could often find him in the garden or tinkering with his John Deere tractors. Jim was a life member of American Legion Post 912 in Rouses Point and Forty and Eight. He served as Commander for three terms at American Legion Post 20 in Plattsburgh. Jim served as Commander for the Clinton County American Legion and served on the Fourth District level. Jim was a member of Moose Lodge 2390 in Plattsburgh, NY, where he served as Governor. He was a dual member of Moose Lodge 285 in Albany, Ga. Jim was a life member of the DAV in Plattsburgh, the North Country Vets of Plattsburgh and was a recipient of North Country Honor Flight on August 28, 2021. Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Brown Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh with burial with Military Honors to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
