Jane L Irwin

Peru Jane L. Irwin, 67, of John Boswell Road, Peru, NY, passed away on Thursday January 7, 2015 at her home with her family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY the daughter of Henry and Gloria (Reil). Jane graduated from Peru Central School in 1967 and soon after from Cosmetology School. She worked at various hair salons until opening her own salon Daily Mirror in Peru. Jane enjoyed cooking, shopping and getting ready for Christmas every year. She was a member of the Peaseleeville Methodist Church and married Thomas Irwin on October 8, 1972. Jane's greatest joy was spending time with her family and will be remembered as a special mom and nana. She was predeceased by her parents and her brothers; Mark and Martin Bourdeau. Jane is survived by her husband Tom, two daughters; Kelly Roberts and Christopher Roberts of New Jersey, and Tomilyn Fenn and her husband Michael of Peru, four grandchildren; Blaine and Paige Roberts and Julian and Gracie Fenn, her siblings; Donna Harvey and her husband Thomas of Plattsburgh, Carol Crary and her husband Howard of Florida, Bonnie Bourdeau of Peru and Charlotte Bourdeau of North Carolina, her sister- in-law; Kathleen Pohorence and her husband James of New Mexico and brother-in-law William "Larry" Irwin and his wife Valarie of Peru, several half siblings, nieces and nephews also survive her. Calling hours will be held on Saturday January 9, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 4:00 pm in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will take place later in the year in Schuyler Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
