Jane A Mcgivney

Plattsburgh Miss Jane A. McGivney, 71, of Kellogg Court, Plattsburgh, NY passed away October 8, 2013 at her home. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on April 17, 1942 the daughter of Howard and Claire (Downs) McGivney. Jane was a graduate of St. John's Academy. She received her Bachelors Degree in Education from Plattsburgh State Teachers College and her Masters Degree in Education from Plattsburgh State as well. She taught at Cumberland Head Elementary School. Jane was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association and St. John's Church where she served on the Parish Council. She was predeceased by her parents Howard and Claire McGivney, her brothers; H. Eugene McGivney and Richard McGivney. Jane is survived by her brothers; Douglas McGivney and his wife Barbara of Kinderhook, Paul McGivney of Rainbow Lake, her nieces and nephews; Emma, Marykate, Kathleen, Daniel, William, Patrick, Matthew, Mary Rose, Shawn, Darren, Linda and Tracey. Calling hours will be Monday, October 14, 2013 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St. Plattsburgh, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
