Jane Wilson Ohlsen

Plattsburgh Mrs. Jane Wilson Ohlsen, 90, of Set Point in Plattsburgh, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. She was born in Pyrites, New York on June 6, 1921, the daughter of Edward Vincent and Lila (McCormick) Wilson. Jane graduated from St. John's Academy class of 1939 and the St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing in New York City and was a registered nurse at Sacred Heart Nursing Home and CVPH Medical Center for many years. She also owned and operated the Champlain Valley Nursing Home in Morrisonville. After retirement, she and her husband James resided in Florida for many years. She was a member of the Monday Club and St. John's Parish. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid reader. She is survived by two sons and daughters in law; James C. and Donna Ohlsen Jr. of Saratoga Springs, Christopher and Deborah Ohlsen of Owls Head, two daughters and a son in law; Kathryna and Robert Zuckerman and Karen Ohlsen, all of Plattsburgh, a daughter in law; Michel Ohlsen Frodyma of Watervliet, one sister; Mary Kazenstein of Chandler, Az. ,several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lt. Col. Ret. James C. Ohlsen, Sr, whom she married on June 26, 1943 in Yonkers, N.Y. Her sons Vincent and John "Billy", and her siblings Jack Wilson, Barbara Charles, Sally Jarvis, Ted Wilson and Michael Wilson also passed away earlier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 1:00 pm at St. John's Church. A reception will follow in the Msgr. Dwyer parish center. Interment will be in St. Alexander's cemetery in Morrisonville at a later date. Memorial donations may be offered to St. John's Parish or Hospice of the North Country.
