Jane P Newell (Laporte)

Jane P. Newell, 89, of Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Clinton County Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on April 2, 1930, the daughter of Creswell and Rose (Rougier) LaPorte.
She was a caring mother. Jane often in her free time liked taking her family for car rides, going camping and attending family gatherings. She enjoyed playing cards with her family or completing puzzles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Robert H. Newell, her infant son, David, her sons-in-law Robert Chagnon and James Rood, her brother Joseph LaPorte and her grandson, Herbie Rock.
She is survived by her children; Robert Newell and his wife Karen, Ronald Newell and his wife Pam, Daniel Newell and his wife Cheryl, Linda Rood, Carol VanHise and her companion Ron Fuller, Kathy Chagnon, Mary LeClair and her husband Carl, her grandchildren; Janine, Erin, Mark, Kelly, Darrell, Danny, Trisha, Miranda, Janelle, Casey, Kris, 5 greatgrandchildren, her siblings; Helen Sherman, WIlliam LaPorte, and Michael LaPorte and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday, June 23, 2019 from 4:00-6:00pm at the Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 10:00am at St. Peter’s Church, Plattsburgh. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
