Plattsburgh Janet T. Coupal, 73, of Dickson Point Road, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Saturday May 29, 2010 at her home with her family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country after a courageous 20 year battle with cancer. She was born in Plattsburgh on October 30, 1936 the daughter of Martin and Dorothy (Duquette) Towner. Janet married her husband John Coupal on November 6, 1954 at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh. They later went on to own and operate their own dairy farm in Beekmantown and Coupal's Mini Mart on Point Au Roche. She also was a school bus driver for the Beekmantown Central School District and a member of the Beekmantown Get Together Club. She enjoyed playing BINGO, reading, line dancing and playing card games. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family at their home on the lake. For over 25 years she and John would travel to Tavares, Florida to spend the winters. Janet was predeceased by her parents, a sister Lillian Pecore. She is survived by her husband of 56 years John Coupal, Sr., three sons; John Coupal, Jr. and his wife Debbie of Keeseville, James Coupal and his wife Sue of Point Au Roche, Jerry Coupal and his wife Debbie of Riverview, FL and a daughter Jane Renadette and her husband Dennis of Plattsburgh, NY, 9 grandchildren; Todd Coupal and his wife Amanda of Plattsburgh, Glenn Coupal and his wife Katie of Plattsburgh, Jason Renadette of Plattsburgh, Jeremy Renadette of Plattsburgh, Jessica Coupal of Plattsburgh, Jamie Coupal and her fiancé Chris Phillips of Dannemora, Jeremiah Coupal, Jerrod Coupal and Jerry Coupal, Jr. all of Riverview, FL, 2 great granddaughters; Allie and Grace Coupal of Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday June 4, 2010 at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh.
