Janet King

Janet P. King, 91, of Plattsburgh passed away peacefully December 9, 2024 at Plattsburgh Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Plattsburgh on August 19, 1933, the daughter of the late George and Mary (Lamora) King. Janet was a Senior Merchandising Manager at JC Penney in Plattsburgh for over 30 years. She enjoyed gardening and creating beautiful artwork and crafts. Janet will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving Mother and Nana, her joyous presence will be missed by all. Janet is survived by her three children and their spouses, Nancy and Michael Doctor of Camillus, NY, Bonnie and Mark Dutton of Peru, NY and David and Shelly Pelkey of West Chazy, NY. Grandchildren Jonathan Doctor, Michael (Amanda) Doctor, Megan (Allyson) Penfield-Doctor, Nicole Dutton, Erica (Jayson Ashline) Dutton, Kristin (Matthew Delavergne) Dutton, Eric (Michelle) Pelkey, Jennifer (Shawn) Aguglia, Amy Dakin and Cory (Amy) Provost, as well as 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Donna Mousseau, sisters-in-law Brenda King and Sheila King along with many loving nieces and nephews. Janet is predeceased by both of parents, her brothers Carl (Brenda) and Wayne (Sheila) King, and sisters Audrey Tusa, Phyllis Duquette and Brenda Duquette. Janet’s family would like to thank the entire staff at Plattsburgh Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their excellent care, love and support. Memorial Services will be at Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901 on Saturday, December 14th from 1pm-3pm with a prayer held at 3pm by Fr. Reamer .
