Jean E. Baker

Jean Elizabeth Baker, 96, of Plattsburgh, passed into the arms of the Lord on Monday, October 9, 2023. She was born March 19th, 1927, in Dannemora, NY to Seth and Cecile (Provost) Bull of Cadyville, NY. Jean was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a proud homemaker always making sure her home was ready for company with something yummy baking in the oven. In addition to her family, she was known for giving back to others. She volunteered for many years at Sacred Heart Nursing Home and was always willing to lend a hand when needed. In addition to her love of family, Jean also had a strong love for the Lord. She was a devout Catholic who held tight to her faith in good times and difficult times. She was a member of the Third Order of the Franciscans and Rosary Society in Plattsburgh.

Jean is survived by seven of her eight children—Arthur (Jina) Baker of Plattsburgh, Nancy Hamilton of Plattsburgh, David (Jennifer) Baker of Chazy, Diane Baker of Bellbrook, OH, Steven Baker of Plattsburgh, James (Renee) Baker of Morrisonville; her grandchildren—Sara (Bret) Christopherson of Herriman, Utah, Joshua (Christina) Baker of San Antonio, Jeremy (Ruthie) Baker of Plattsburgh, Rebecca Hamilton of Plattsburgh; her great grandchildren—Austin, Cameron, Devin, Hudson, Gunnar, Levi, Landon, Damien; her sister Ann (Edward) Chester of Glenview, Il. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Baker, son William Baker, and two brothers Rance and Walton Bull. The family would like to extend their thanks to Debbie Wells for all the love and care she provided to Jean over the last few years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter’s Church on Saturday, October 14 at 10 am. Interment will follow in the family plot at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Friends wishing may have Masses said in her memory.
