Jean Avis Crump was born on January 21, 1938 to Joseph and Cora Evans. She was a graduate from Julia Richmond High School's Nursing Program. Jean began her career as a nursing assistant at Long Island Jewish Hospital in Queens, NY. She resided in NYC and Staten Island where she was employed by the State Dept of Mental Health at Willowbrook State Hospital until its closing and transferred to Sunmount DDSO in Tupper Lake where she retired after 25 years of combined service. Jean was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church where she served the Lord on their Choir. In addition she was a long standing member of Plattsburgh's State Choir and Praise Dance team. Jean was the mother of 5 sons Lee C. Crump Jr, Aaron Crump, Shawn Crump, Matawa Devitt, her baby Yusef Williams. She was the oldest of three siblings; her brother Angelo Evans predeceased her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister Beverly M. Lucas, of Teaneck, NJ, her sons and many others she raised over the years including Tyrone Spencer, 2 daughters-in-law Tomia and Lisa Crump, 13 grand children and 1 great grandson.
