Jean M. Hewitt

Mrs. Jean M. Hewitt, 89, of Bailey Ave., passed away March 23, 2024. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 26, 1934 the daughter of Philip and Margaret (Leary) Roberts. Jean graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Yonkers, NY as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She later moved to Plattsburgh and met the love of her life, Roland "Pete." She retired from CVPH after 40 years. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Roland R. Hewitt, her parents, and her sister Patricia Kelton Wilson. She is survived by her children; Elizabeth Hewitt, Charlie Hewitt and his wife Jean, Philip Hewitt and his wife Martha, her grandchildren; Christy Hewitt, Courtney Hewitt, Alexis Hewitt Medici and her husband Brad and their daughter Carmelina Jean, Anna Hewitt-Channell and her husband Brady and their twin boys, Elliott Todd and James Philip, and several nieces and nephews and cousins. A family gathering will take place at a later date with burial in AuSable Chasm Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s name can be made to the United Methodist Church of Plattsburgh or the Interfaith Food Shelf.
