Jean A "Chick" Johnson

Plattsburgh Jean A. "Chick" Johnson, 80 of South Peru Street, Plattsburgh, NY passed away on Friday September 2, 2011 at her home. She was born in Plattsburgh on November 6, 1930 the daughter of Fred and Mary (Shea) Phifer. Jean graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1948. She married John Johnson on May 6, 1961 at St. John's Church in Plattsburgh. Jean was a member of Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh and Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed spending time with her family, word puzzles and going to the beach in the summer. Jean was predeceased by her husband and two sisters; Nora Kimball and Helen Hildebrand. She is survived by three children; Jocelyn "Jollie" Johnson of Morrisonville, John Johnson, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Keene, NH, and Jerome Johnson of Plattsburgh, three grandchildren, Carrie Johnson of Lockport, NY, Amanda Johnson of Buffalo, NY and Jessica Johnson of Morrisonville, a great granddaughter Madison Johnson, a son-in-law Bruce Johnson and two brothers; Fred Phifer and his wife Monica and George Phifer, several nieces and nephews also survive her. Calling hours will be held on Monday September 5, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday September 6, 2011 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday September 6, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory in Church Plattsburgh. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
