Jean I. Sklenarik, 89, of Beacon Hill Road, Morrisonville, NY, passed away on Thursday May 13, 2021 at her home with her loving family by her side, under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in Binghamton, NY on December 28, 1931 the daughter of Joseph and Lillian (Baer) Merrette.
Jean bowled on mixed and single leagues. She was a great cook and baker—especially her Christmas cookies and fudge.
Jean worked as a stenographer before her daughter was born. She then worked for the Plattsburgh State Credit Union from its inception for 30 years. Jean loved animals—especially panda bears.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 61 years, Frank Sklenarik.
She is survived by her daughter Liliane Sklenarik and son-in-law Edward Payne of Holliston, MA and a grand puppy Wrigley. Her brother Joseph Merrette of Johnson City, NY and two nieces and one nephew also survive her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday May 26, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville, NY. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
