Jeanne M. O'Leary

Jeanne M. O’Leary, of Cumberland RI passed away, Saturday March 30, 2024 at her home with family by her side. She was born on June 16, 1929 in Plattsburgh, NY, the daughter of Thomas and Evelyn (Sheils) McCambley. Jeanne graduated from St. John’s Academy. After graduating, she attended Mount Saint Vincent, Bronx, NY, where she received her degree in Chemistry. She then received her Masters Degree in Chemistry at SUNY Plattsburgh, followed by a degree in Education. Jeanne taught school in NY (including Peru) until she married Kenneth O’Leary (Plattsburgh native). She continued teaching in NJ until their first child was born. While her husband pursued his career, Jeanne was very happy staying at home, raising their six children. Ultimately, they moved to RI and spent their summers in Port Kent. She is survived by her six children. Two daughters; Patricia and Kathleen O’Leary, four sons; John (Jane), Gary, Michael, and Timothy (Gena). She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her grandson John, daughter in law Reta, and brother Jack McCambley. Calling hours will be held on Friday April 12, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:30 at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 at St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh, burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
