Morrisonville Mrs. Jeannine Marie Nichols, 81, of the Flat Rock Road, Morrisonville, New York passed away Monday September 8, 2008 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in France on February 1, 1927 the daughter of August A. and Claudine (Felix) Bourne. Jeannine was active in the French Resistance during World War II. She came to the United States as a war bride. Jeannine was a registered nurse and a language teacher. She served on the Youth Commission in Morrisonville, an advisor to the Catholic Youth Organization and was instrumental in starting Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in Morrisonville. She was a member of St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville where she served as a lector, Eucharistic minister, choir member and served on the parish council. Jeannine was also active in To God be the Glory Healing Ministry, she directed retreats, workshops and missions. She was a member of Clinton County Senior Citizens. Jeannine is survived by three children; James C. Nichols of Morrisonville, Lorraine Curley and her husband Kevin of Morrisonville, David Nichols and his wife Mary Beth of Middletown, New York a daughter-in-law Fawnda Nichols of Anna, Texas, one sister, Gilberte Boud and her husband Michel of Lyon, France, eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Jeannine was predeceased by her husband, Edgar "Guy" Nichols, two sons; Daniel J. Nichols and Lawrence G. Nichols. Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 10, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Burial will follow in St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville. Donations in Jeannine's memory may be made to St. Alexander's Church Memorial Fund or Hospice of the North Country.
