Plattsburgh Jennifer A. LaFountain, 58, of Conifer Circle, Plattsburgh, NY, passed away on Monday February 23, 2015 at her home with her family and friends by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. After graduating from high school she began her career in Banking, working at Key Bank in Dannemora and later Champlain National Bank in 2001. She became a U.S. Citizen, shortly after 9-11 in 2002, something she was very proud of as her patriotic duty. Jennifer enjoyed golfing in the Ladies League at Adirondack Golf Club and was a member of the Sweet Adeline's. She was predeceased by her father Dr. John Elton Hotchin, her father-in-law Edward Joseph LaFountain, Jr. and a brother-in-law Edward Joseph LaFountain, III. Jennifer is survived by her husband Ronald LaFountain, her mother Peggy Brittian of Sutton On the Sea, England, two step-sisters; Shama Hotchin of Travels City, MI, and Tania Hotchin of Austin, TX; her mother-in-law Alice LaFountain of Tampa, FL, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Laurie and Don Teeple, Leslie and Mike Dann, Donna Marie, Julie and Mike Clark, her friends; Kathy Eppler, Kristen Carmichael, Lynn Patno, Bonnie Pellerin, Sandy Madden, Louise King, Judy and Tom Quay, several nieces, nephews and many more friends also survive her. On one of Jennifer's many trips to Boston, she and Ron met a couple whose little girl was dying of cancer. The parents were obviously distraught, but this little one's bravery and smiles touched them both. This little girl inspired Jennifer to turn her illness into a positive. At that same doctor visit, Jennifer decided to donate her brain to research. It was her sincere hope to help for a cure. Even in Jennifer's despair, she thought of others, and it gave her comfort to make a contribution that may help beat this disease.
