Joan M. Jarvis, 92, of Plattsburgh, passed away February 8, 2025 at Meadowbrook Healthcare in Plattsburgh. She was born in Plattsburgh, NY on February 11, 1932, the daughter of Alex and Mary (Ryan) Wodjenski. Joan graduated from St. John’s Academy in 1949 and from Champlain Valley School of Nursing in 1952. She worked as an RN at Champlain Valley Hospital and in the Intensive Care Unit at CVPH Medical Center. After retiring, she proudly volunteered at the Ambulatory Surgery Center at CVPH. She was a lifetime member of Court Mother Admirable 592 Catholic Daughters at St. Joseph’s Parish in Dannemora and was member of St. John’s Parish and Altar Rosary Society in Plattsburgh. She and her husband Jack enjoyed snowmobiling, canoeing, trips to Maine and cross-country train travel. She is survived by her three children; Deborah (Gregory) Sherman, Daniel (Lesa) Jarvis and John (Cynthia) Jarvis; seven grandchildren, Allison Sherman Gardner, Nicholas Sherman, Danielle Jarvis Clark, Kate Jarvis Mintiloglitis, Jamie Jarvis, Ashley Jarvis Howard and Maegan Jarvis; ten great grandchildren; Theodore and Thomas Gardner; Sloane Sherman; Lexis, Kallen, and Piper Howard; Levi Jarvis; Steele, Olivia and Jack Clark; a sister Kathleen Miller and, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, and her brothers; Joseph and Thomas Wodjenski. The family would like to thank her friends at Lake Forest Living Community for all the love and support over the years and the staff at Meadowbrook Healthcare for the care they provided in Joan’s final days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 12 at 10 am at St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh, burial will follow at the Divine Mercy Cemetery.
