Joan Marion Zimmer

Joan Marion Zimmer, 84, of Plattsburgh, passed peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born July 23, 1940 to Al and Marion Lashway (Miller), whom preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her Husband, Joe Zimmer; Stepfather George Miller; Stepmother, Georgiana Lashway; Brothers, Ellsworth Lashway and Gary Miller; Sister, Shirley Thompson; Son, Michael Lucy; and Granddaughter, Jennifer Thompson. She leaves behind her daughters, Debbie (Lucy) Barker and Karen (Lucy) Durr (Bobby) and son, Scott Lucy; daughter-in-law Christina Lucy; Sisters, Sandra Conoran, Judy Ackley, Joy Laundree; Brothers George Miller and Charles Miller; 5 Grandchildren, 14 Great grandchildren and 1 Great Great grandson; Along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Spending most of her life in Plattsburgh and many years in Syracuse, she found her calling as a bartender where she honed her keen listening skills and her unique sense of humor to become the ambassador of seeing to it that all of her friends, old and new, had a good time. She loved her family fiercely and shined as a pillar of strength to them. The family is planning a celebration of life at a later date.
