John E Deangelo

Plattsburgh John E. "Pop" DeAngelo, 60, of Margaret Street, Plattsburgh, NY passed away unexpectedly on Sunday December 5, 2010 at CVPH Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born in Dunmore, PA on June 23, 1950 the son of Salvatore and Agnes (Stedina) DeAngelo. John grew up in Dunmore, PA and attended Dunmore Catholic High School. He went on to graduate from Wilkes Barre College in PA with a degree in business. He moved to Plattsburgh to take a job as Assistant Manager at H. L. Green, soon after he was promoted to manger at J. J. Newberry in Maine. John later returned to Plattsburgh where he worked for the New York State Department of Corrections as a Clerk in the commissary, retiring in 2006 after 20 years of service. John enjoyed bowling, visiting with everyone he met and sitting with them over coffee and telling jokes. He was predeceased by his parents. John is survived by two sons; John K. DeAngelo of Plattsburgh and Christopher DeAngelo and his wife Shawna of Dannemora, four grandchildren; Taylor, Bryce, Brielle and Dominic, his former wife of 23 years, Mary Ann DeAngelo of Plattsburgh four brothers; Michael DeAngelo and his wife Auring, Salvatore DeAngelo, Weaver DeAngelo and his wife Kris and Vincent DeAngelo and his wife Ann Marie, all of PA, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday December 8, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh, a funeral service will follow at 7:00 in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel, burial will be in Dunmore, PA in the family plot. Donations in his memory may be made to the Dialysis Unit at CVPH Medical Center, C/O Brown Funeral Home. John will greatly miss the staff, fellow patients and their families that he got to know over the years while receiving treatment at the Freedman Dialysis Unit. He truly considered them his family.
