Beekmantown Mr. John E. Duquette, Sr., 76, of the Duquette Road, Beekmantown passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh, New York on June 3, 1933 the son of Emery A. and Mae Ruth (Murphy) Duquette. He enjoyed bowling in the Hits and Misses Bowling League, farming, camping and spending time with his family and friends. John retired from Clinton Correctional Facility after 37 years as Superintendent of Industries. He was a Fire Commissioner for the Beekmantown Fire Department, served on the Beekmantown Town Board and was a Town Councilman and was Chair of the Beekmantown Home Days. He and his late wife Theresa were Democrats of the Year. John and his son John, Jr. operated the family dairy farm from 1972 to 2009. He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, West Chazy. He was predeceased by his parents Emery and Mae Duquette and his wife Theresa L. Duquette. John is survived by one son John E. Duquette, Jr. of Beekmantown; two daughters Judy Moller and her companion Edward Daniels of Beekmantown, Jackie Duquette and her long time companion Edward Sullivan, Jr. of Saranac, a brother Robert Duquette and his wife Brenda of Beekmantown, six grandchildren; Krissa O'Donnell and her husband Dale, Randal Moller, Jonathan Kriplin, Sarah Kriplin, John Emery Duquette III, Shauna Gilligan and her husband Casey Gilligan; six great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Friday, February 19, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 29 Broad St., Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, West Chazy. Interment will be at a later date at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
