Jericho John A Lakatos, 86, of the Rand Hill Road, Jericho passed away on Friday, October 31, 2008 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Carteret, New Jersey on December 30, 1921, son of Stephen and Julia (Maklari) Lakatos. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II in the European Theater. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. John was pre-deceased by his parents Stephen and Julia (Maklari) Lakatos, his wife Elva, five brothers; Steve, Bobby, Al, Vince, Freddy and a sister Ann. He is survived by a daughter Judy Brodsky of Jericho, a grandson, William Paluski also of Jericho and a brother; Gabriel Lakatos of New Jersey. Calling hours will be Tuesday, November 4, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 3123 Miner Farm Road, Altona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. from Holy Angel's Church in Altona. Burial will follow in Holy Angel's Cemetery in Altona.
