Mr. John R. Silver, 72, of Morrisonville, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the CVPH Medical Center. He was born in Plattsburgh on May 19, 1942 the son of the late Ronald and Esther (LaPorte) Silver. John graduated from Beekmantown Central School in 1960. John worked as a department manager for Ames Department store and Montgomery Ward, a salesman for Scott's Appliance Store and Ginsberg Furniture but John's greatest pride was his antique store, The Bargaineer, which he owned and operated for over 30 years. John is predeceased by his parents, two brothers; Michael Silver and William Silver. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Georgia (Stefanatos) Silver, his son; Brent Silver and his wife Heather of Plattsburgh, a daughter, Tracy Fasking of Plattsburgh, his grandchildren; Eric Silver, Sara Fasking and Eli Fasking, his sister Patricia Dermody and her husband Reginald of Morrisonville and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with John's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be celebrated at 11:30 am on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Plattsburgh.
