Joseph Roger Bouchard

September 2, 1935 — January 5, 2024

Joseph Roger Bouchard, 88, of Plattsburgh, died Friday, January 5, 2024 at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born Monday, September 2nd, 1935, the son of Joseph Bouchard and Bernadette Bouchard Roger grew up working at his parent’s store as a youth and developed his legendary work ethic and dedication to his life’s greatest love, his career. His proudest moments could be remembered behind his desk working at Plattco Corporation in Plattsburgh where he held many roles over the course of 35 years including President, CEO, and Chairman. Roger always saw the value in every individual he encountered and appreciated and acknowledged hard work and effort above all else. He will be remembered as a man who never took a vacation, rarely was sick (or admitted such), and was always present for his peers, employees, and family. He would tirelessly sacrifice and strive for a goal to benefit those around him. In his spare time Roger had a passion for baseball, a sport in which left-handed pitching received him great notoriety in his younger days. He loved the Yankees and spent decades following the team. He loved to watch them win, and as we all know he hated and refused to watch them lose. As with the Yankees, Roger also hated to lose famously at anything and playfully will be remembered as such by those that loved him. He loved to collect and appreciate beautiful timeless things. Such as pens, watches, jewelry, art work, dish sets, and countless other items. Above all else, Roger until the end was a cornerstone of his family and loved and cherished his children Jennifer and Lisa. He is survived by partner and lifelong companion Shirley Bouchard, daughters Lisa Bouchard, Jennifer Lavigne and husband Robert Lavigne. Grandchildren, Zachary Lavigne and wife Elizabeth, Ashley Rondeau and husband Jon, and Nicholas Lavigne. Great-Grandchildren, Kaden, Evelyn, Kaylee, Keegan, Gabriel, Ellie B, and Lincoln. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Bernadette Bouchard, his siblings Roland, Norman, and sister Beatrice, and his wife Andrea Light. At Rogers request there will be no services Arrangements are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home
