Joseph Lamantia, 79, of Lyon Mountain, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bethpage, Long Island. He was born in Brooklyn on January 19, 1943, the son of the late Salvatore and Domenica (Langone) Lamantia.
Joseph was a volunteer driver for JCEO in Plattsburgh. He loved wood working and was willing to help anyone. He was an avid model car collector, loved to travel, loved going out to eat, especially pizza, driving his truck and smoking his pipe tobacco.
He is survived by his daughters; Karen Nasert, Gina Lamantia, and Ida Marie Tedesco, siblings; Marge Radke, Michael Leo, Louie Leo, Salvatore Lamantia, Marianne Lamantia-Kavli, Anthony Lamantia, Angela Lamantia and Virginia Lynch, 4 grandchildren; Joseph Nasert, Krystal Nasert, Derek Nasert and Bianca Tredsco, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife, Ida Delfini Lamantia, daughter, Luciana Davey and grandson Frank Davey III.
Graveside services will be on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 9:00 AM at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Lyon Mountain.
