Joseph A. LaPorte, 71, of Plattsburgh, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the UVHN:CVPH Medical Center. He was born on December 19th, 1952 , the son of Joseph Elmer LaPorte and Rosemary (Taylor) LaPorte Joseph retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force where he served at Plattsburgh Air Force Base for over 20 years during which he served in Korea, repairing and rebuilding airplanes during the war. Joseph also retired from Bombardier which is where he fell in love with his life partner Betty after being widowed. Together they enjoyed going to the casino, traveling to car shows, working on car and restoring them, and spending time together. Joseph also cherished the long talks he had with his sister Belinda over the years. He is survived by his life partner and companion Betty Sears (Kalynn and Dustin Castor), his sister Belinda (Pat) McKenna, his brothers John LaPorte, and Mark (MaryEllen) LaPorte, his daughters Patricia (Floyd) LaPorte, Tracie (Randy) LaPorte, Emma (Andrei) Squires, and his sons Jason LaPorte and Richard (Alicia) Perales. Also several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his granddaughter Tia Ducharme (1996), his son Stephen LaPorte (1999) and wife, Lucia LaPorte (2004). Calling hours will take place on Monday, December 16, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Plattsburgh, NY.
