Joseph V. McChesney, 60, of Clinton Street in Rouses Point, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont with family by his side. he was born in Hartford, Connecticut on June 19, 1962, the son of the late George Richard and Venita (Creller) McChesney.
Joseph served in the U.S. Navy from 1980 to 1984 . He was an auto mechanic in Washington state for several years and later was employed at Champlain Plastics for 17 years as a mechanic and later as Plant Manager. He was a member of the Sportmans Club in Rouses Point and was a volunteer for many years at St. Mary's Mission in Champlain. He enjoyed fishing, walking in the woods, camping and puttering in the garage.
He is survived by his wife Brenda (Naro) McChesney, his step children ; Matthew Brassard, Millissa McCray, Amanda Brassard and Allan Brassard, his siblings and their spouses ; Louise McChesney, Bob and Sue McChesney, George and Jennifer McChesney, Eva McChesney, Sarah McChesney , five grandchildren whom he loved dearly; Harmonie Goodchild, Serenity Goodchild, Russell Dupee III, Henry Brassard, and Reese McCray, several couisins ,nieces, and nephews including Lionel Joseph and Malaynah McChesney whom he was especially close to, his mother in law; Theresa Naro, a sister in law; Kathy Barboza, and a brother in law; James Naro.
He was predeceased by his father in law Richard Naro, and a brother in law David Barboza.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home,3123 Miner Farm Road in Altona. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 11:00 am at Holy Angels Church in Altona with his cousin, the Most Rev. Douglas Lucia, Bishop of Syracuse celebrating.. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
