Joyce B Ayotte

Joyce B. Ayotte, 89, of Blair Road, Cumberland Head, passed away on Tuesday September 17, 2019 at her home with her family by her side under the care of Hospice of the North Country. She was born in New Rochelle, NY on May 3, 1930 the daughter of Charles and Mildred (Parker) Brandell. Joyce received her nursing degree from Mercy Hospital in Watertown, NY and worked at Physicians Hospital in Plattsburgh, before joining the family business Bay View Dairy on Cumberland Head. For over 30 years Joyce, bred and showed Tibetian Terriers. She traveled the United States extensively competing in shows. Joyce won with four breeds at the Westminster Dog Show. She was a member of St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh, the Tibetian Terrier Club of America and enjoyed bowling.
She was predeceased by her parents and a daughter Patricia Toyo.
Joyce is survived by her husband of 64 years, Clarence Richard “DA” Ayotte, their children; John “Jack” Ayotte and his wife Debra of Londonderry, VT, Carol Holzer and her husband Bill of Plattsburgh and Michelle Ayotte of Shepardsville, KY, her grandchildren; Cory, Jayme and Samantha Ayotte, Alaina and Mack Holzer, Theresa (Adam) Thomasson, Catherine, Mary, Hope and Charity Shepardson, great grandchildren Lucy Ayotte and Caleb Thomasson, her brother and sister-in-law Richard “Dick and Anne Brandell of Plattsburgh, several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday September 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church.
Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the North Country or the Tibetian Terrier Rescue in care of Brown Funeral Home.
